Stay= 1 Tree

The "Eco" in Tiloreza Volcanoes Ecolodge

For every guest we welcome, we plant a tree through our partnership with OneTreePlanted. This initiative supports reforestation in Mukura, where local farmer Agnes Uwifashije and a women’s cooperative work to restore land, protect biodiversity, and strengthen water, energy, and food security.

Plastic Reduction

Latest updates

As you may have noticed upon arriving in Kigali, Rwanda is one of the few countries that has banned plastic bags. In support of this national effort, Tiloreza has eliminated all plastic water bottles — as part of our commitment to sustainability. Guests are welcome to choose between a reusable water bottle or filtered water available on-site.

Solar Energy

Tiloreza is proud to be one of the first hotels in Rwanda to switch to solar energy. In 2024, we installed solar panels that now power the majority of our rooms, reducing our reliance on diesel and cutting harmful emissions. Each year of solar use has the environmental impact of planting more than 500 trees—another step in our commitment to a cleaner, greener future.
